COVID 19 - Update November 2020

The play areas throughout the parish will remain open for exercise and play.

Users are reminded that they are used at your own risk. They are not sanitised after use therefore you are reminded to ensure hands and washed thoroughly after use.

ALL Users are required to Social distance and to not congregate in groups. You should only meet up with one other individual outside your family bubble.

The Parish Council manage and maintain several areas throughout the Parish. They are not responsible for Footpaths, Roads or Grass verges.

Of the Areas that we maintain we are not responsible for picking up dog mess, We provide bins for people to dispose of their own litter, we do not employ staff to do it.

The areas are mowed regularly through the summer by our Contractors and the Bins emptied two weekly. ROSPA safety inspections are carried out on the equipment annually.

ALL of our parks and play areas are covered by the North West Leicestershire PSPO Public space Protection order :-

The following are therefore offences.

1: Failing to remove dog faeces

It is an offence if you don't remove the faeces of any dog in your charge immediately from any land open to the air which the public are entitled or permitted to have access to.

2: Dogs on lead by order

Anyone who is in charge of a dog that is deemed out of control by an authorised officer will be guilty of an offence if they do not comply with direction from that officer to put and keep the dog on a lead.

3: Exclusion of dogs

Anyone who is in charge of a dog will be guilty of an offence if they allow the dog to enter or remain in a children's play area or designated marked sport pitch or athletic area.

4: Means to pick up

Anyone who is in charge of a dog will be guilty of an offence if they fail to produce an appropriate means to pick up the dog faeces following a request from an authorised officer.

Henry Dane Way play area is at last having new play equipment. The council selected the pieces based on a very limited budget and it is scheduled to be installed early 2020. When funds allow we hope to add to the area and enhance it further.
